Dr. Bala
founded Bala Family Practice after
more than a decade of caring for the people in Harford and neighboring
counties. A 1991 graduate of Sri Ramachandra
Medical College in Chennai, India, Dr. Bala moved to the United States and
completed a M.S. degree in Pathology at the University of Texas in 1994. He
completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital, NY. He
completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Greater Baltimore Medical
Center in 1997 and served as a Hospitalist at GBMC for 2 years. He also
worked for Kaiser Permanente as a staff physician from 1997 to 2003. Dr Bala
joined Patient First in 1999 and served as the Assistant Medical Director
from 2006-2007 at the Patient First center in Bel Air MD.

Suzana Radulovich, M.D. Ph.D.-Lab
Director
Dr. Radulovich obtained her Medical degree at University of
Ljubljana, School of Medicine. She moved to United States in January of
1992 to pursue postdoctoral trainings in the areas of infectious
diseases, clinical diagnostic, microbiology, immunology and pathogenesis
at University of Texas, Medical Branch at Galveston (1992-1995). In 1995
Dr. Radulovich joined University of Maryland, School of Medicine in
Baltimore. She obtained Academic title of Assistant Professor of
Microbiology and Immunology in 1998. She earned Associate Professorship
title in 2004. Dr. Radulovich has over fifteen years of expertise in
clinical microbiology and development of diagnostic methods, bacterial
pathogenesis, and molecular biology coupled with the experience in the
treatment of the infectious diseases. Together with Dr. Bala she
established Bala Family Practice in 2009 and is leading clinical
diagnostic testing.
Deborah Starr MS, CRNP
Graduated from University of Maryland with a Master's in
Primary Care in 1986 post-graduate national certification in Women's
Health earned in 1996
National Certification in Acute Care earned in
2000 over 25 years experience in primary care and in-patient mangement
specialize in diabetes management, headache treatment, and weight
management.
Jennifer Kurman
PA-CJennifer Kurman, PA-C, is a physician assistant
at Bala Family Practice. Jennifer graduated from Drexel University,
Philadelphia, PA in 2007 with a Masters of Health Sciences and is a
registered physician assistant in the state of Maryland. She is a member
of the Maryland and American Academies of Physician Assistants and is
board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician
Assistants. Jennifer has experience in family and occupational medicine
with a focus on preventative health.
